MV Kearsarge Dinner Cruise Sinks in Sunapee Harbor Pier, New Hampshire
MV Kearsarge's stern partially sunk at the Sunapee Harbor, New Hampshire pier on January 10, 2013. Peter Fenton the owner of the dinner cruise ship said a small hole in cruise ship caused the vessel to take on water as it sunk into ice-crusted water on the night of January 10, 2012.
The MV Kearsarge bow was in the air with half of the ship sunk. Air bags were placed at the stern of the MV Kearsarge to raise the stern. Water was pumped out so the ship could be repaired.
MV Kearsarge takes up to 75 passengers on two-hour-long buffet dinner cruises around Lake Sunapee in the summer and early fall months.
