Viking Freya Collision Danube River Bridge Erlangen Germany

Viking Freya collided with low railroad bridge on Danube River near Erlangen, Germany September 11, 2016, two crew members die. The wheel house was crushed when the Viking Freya collided with the bridge, killing 49-year-old who was at the wheel of the vessel and a 33-year-old sailor.

Local police say Police Viking Freya had just embarked from Erlangen, Germany and was sailing on the Main-Danube Canal towards Budapest, Hungary when the accident took place on Sunday.

Viking Frey had 181 passengers and 47 other crew members aboard at the time of the accident who were uninjured.
